Clientcopia

Zapewne czesc z Was wie, co to ClientCopia.

I sprobuj tu, czlowieku, porozmawiac z dzialem wsparcia technicznego czyli tzw online technical support…

Me: Hi, I want to create two nameservers based on one of the domains i registered with you -> myaddress.com. The FAQ explains how to do it, but where do I do that?

Tech Support: hi, how can i help

Me: hi, where do i go to create the nameservers based on my domain?

Tech Support: can you tell me your domain name

Me: myaddress.com

Tech Support: that domain name is not currently in one of our hosting packages.

Me: of course it isn’t – as i said, i just registered a domain name with you, my websites are hosted somewhere else

Tech Support: ok, and you want to change the nameservers to us?

Tech Support: sorry, you want the nameservers to be where you are hosted with

Me: let me explain :)

Me: i purchased a reseller account from a hosting company. i got three unique IP addresses, two of them are assigned as my own nameservers

Tech Support: ns2.myoldhosting.com

Tech Support: yes

Tech Support: can you tell me your reseller logon

Me: no, the domain has just been transferred somewhere else. what i need is this: http://address-of-the-faq-at-the-registrars-site/

Tech Support: What does “Unable to verify existance of nameserver” mean? If you are receiving “Unable to verify existance of name server” error messages when trying to add name servers, it’s likely due to the name server not being found in the registry database.

Tech Support: ?

Me: no, that’s not it. i am just trying to find out WHERE i can
set up the addresses ns1.myaddress.com and ns2.myaddress.com to point
to two unique IPs i have

Me: so that i could give my clients my own nameserver addresses

Me: the part of FAQ I showed you explains how to do it, but not where to do it

Tech Support: what is your username and logon for your domain control panel.

Me: ****************** / ****************

Tech Support: sorry, you will not be able to create your own nameservers with us

Tech Support: as your domain name is registered through directi.

Me: and that means?

Tech Support: it is not possible to create your own mail servers

Me: god almighty…

Me: it makes no difference to me if my domain was registered through directi or anyone else

Me: i don’t want to create a mail server. i want to create nameservers, to point them to ip addresses.

Me: now – what do i need to do to be able to create them?

Me: transfer my domains somewhere else?

Me: as far as i remember, the agreement didn’t mention any limitations like that – or am i wrong?

Tech Support: what are the ips.

Tech Support: hello

Me: hang on a sec please

Me: sorry, just had a call from a client

Me: the ips are:

Me: ns1.myaddress.com – **.***.**.**

Me: ns2.myaddress.com – **.***.**.**

Tech Support: i believe this has been setup]

Me: no. i pointed the myaddress.com domain to these ip addresses, but now i need to point the nameserver addresses (ns1.myaddress.com and ns2.myaddress.com) to these ips

Me: am i not getting something here? :)

Me: basically, as i said at the beginning, i need to create the nameservers based on my domain.

Me: Click on the “Manage Name Servers” section and at the bottom of the page, you will see a link called “If you want to create or modify a name server which is based on {your domain} click here.”

Me: that’s what the FAQ says. now, where do i go to look for that “manage name servers” link?

Tech Support: ok,

Tech Support: i have create the name servers and given them the ip address you gave me

Tech Support: is that ok with you.

Tech Support: ................. ;

Me: sorry, another call

Me: for the moment – yes, thank you

Me: but will i be able to do that in the future?

Me: why is my control over the domains i purchased limited?

Tech Support: due to the numbder of registrars we register domain names with

Tech Support: if you need this done in the future just send a mail to *******@**********.** and we can set it up for you.

Me: well…

Me: that’s a solution, ok… but it just doesn’t sound right. i’ll just probably have to look into transferring my domains somewhere :/ too bad,
as i have heard that you are very reliable.

Me: it just seems strange that some of your customers get the feature, some don’t

Me: don’t get me wrong, i just think it’s not important for me how you registered my domain – i thought that it was you who were the registrar

Me: if i buy something and pay the same money as other customers, why would i get less functionality? :) strange.

Tech Support: we can always make the necessary changes for you

Me: anyway, thanks for your help – if anything can be done about this please e-mail me at *********@******.*** or ring **********

Me: but

Me: you don’t seem to understand me :)

Me: if your clients have access to a control panel like that, it just seems not right to me that some of them do, some don’t…

Me: anyway, thanks once again

Tech Support: ok
